MUSEUM PORTFOLIO

American History in Tangible Form

The monetary artifacts assembled in our museum portfolio represent American history and our cultural heritage. These objects are conduits to exploring the cultural interaction, political change, innovation, and artistic expression throughout America’s history.

Colonial Period

(1630–1764)

Early settlers arrived seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity. These communities faced challenges that fostered self-governance and eventually revolutionary tensions.

American Revolution

(1765–1791)

Resistance to British rule grew through acts like the Stamp Act and Townshend Acts. The Declaration of Independence, major battles, and the Constitution defined a new nation.

Young Republic

(1792–1815)

The young nation debated governance, adopted the Bill of Rights, expanded westward, and navigated tensions over slavery and the War of 1812.

Civil War

(1861–1865)

A conflict over sovereignty and slavery divided the nation. Lincoln’s leadership proved pivotal in preserving the Union.

Industrial Revolution

(1876–1900)

Rapid economic growth, innovation, urbanization, and the rise of government regulation defined this transformative era.
